social phobia

Have you ever met a new friend, someone that you aren’t really familiar with, but in the first instance both of you met each other, you two instantly clicked and became fast friends?

Well, I would say that I’m the total opposite of such.

I am the type of person where I’m afraid of strangers. No matter how familiar I am with you on the internet, when it come to real life, I will be scared to see you and will be really uneasy when we met for the first time… Let alone those who I have just met for the first time in real life. Unless you emits an aura that eliminate my fear (through whatever means), I would just kept quiet throughout the whole meeting up. People who don’t know me would probably think that I’m too proud to be friendly and to talk to them. For this reason alone, I have relatively less net friend compared to others. Insecurity is the reasoning behind my social phobia.

Social-Phobia

This social phobia that I carries with me since birth, of course, poses a big problem to me, especially when meeting up new friends when the new semester commences. I currently have 150++ classmates, where 30++ was from the same intake with me during Year 1… the remaining 120 persons are mostly strangers to me. As if things aren’t bad enough, I’m also terrible at remembering faces and names. ==”

But things seems to be changing. I’m slowly (but steadily) picking up names and faces of my classmates. Last Friday's company law presentation also helps in terms of knowing who is who in our class. I’d also gather enough courage to actually speak to some of my classmates recently, and the responds are generally positive.

Hopefully things will be better soon and I’ll finally be able to know everyone from my class =)

p.s: this post looks like a primary school essay. FML.

Busy

It must have been the busiest week I had since Year 2 started.

busy

Throughout the last 2 weeks, I have been planning my ex-wife’s wedding dinner. Planning a wedding dinner was not as easy as it seems, and I had cracked my head over the whole event: the slideshow (which eventually malfunction and not used, FML), the sketch, the ceremony flow, the tuan kang performance etc. I also have to emcee the wedding dinner with my lovely daughter (which I performed terribly! haha!). With only 2 weeks to prepare for the dinner, I can’t find time to do revision throughout the 2 weeks.

Now that the wedding dinner is over, I can finally start revising! So… yeah. It’s gonna be full blast studying! *nerdy mode activated*

Sorry I cannot hear you, I’m kinda busy!!

p.s: The busy-ness was also partially to be blamed onto the frequent outing with friends =x

complaint

Recently, there has been complaint from my classmates, that my emotion fluctuates vigorously.

Sometimes I can be seen sitting alone in the class, did not bother to talk to people; Sometimes I can be seen walking around classrooms and chatting with people, in my high pitch voice; Sometimes I can be seen jumping around class (literally), screaming in joy; Sometimes I can be seen walking around college in the longest face you’d ever seen. All these scenarios happen in the same day.

Well, all I can say is:

Stress-ZebraStripes

…and assignment haven’t even kicked in yet. Sucks to be me >.<

there’s no way to turn around

This post is the continuation of the prolonged family problem: Kindly read this post and this post before proceed.

It has been 5 months since the incident where me and the son of the bitch were in the fight, much to my mom and sister’s dismay. But, being a headstrong person as i am, i have yet to give in. I was still as angry as it was 5 months ago. *hint: don’t make me angry, lol*

Today, mom sat down when I’m eating my bak kut teh for lunch.

Mom: Son ah, how’s the bkt?

Me: Nice!

*silence*

Mom: Son ah, your dad had gave up in the business plan already.

Me: …So? What does it have to do with me?

Mom: Please, son… It’s been 5 months since both of you are fighting, and I’m suffering as the middle person. For my sake, can you forgive your dad?

Me: *silent*… I won’t put you in difficulties… don’t worry. (and that means a BIG NO)

Mom: Please! Just forgive your dad… please?

Me: I won’t put you in difficulties… don’t worry.

Mom: *starts crying* Why do you have to be so headstrong? Forgive your dad… please…

Me: I won’t put you in difficulties… don’t worry.

Mom stood up and went to her room. I continue to eat my bkt.

What does she expects from me? To forgive a person who killed my dream, my life and my dignity? My dad was dead, 5 months ago, in my heart. And you know what they say, those who’re dead will never be alive again. I know I’ve disappointed my mom to a very great extent, but I have my own feelings to protect before anyone’s else. As much as I can't stand mom's tears, I can't betray myself either.

This is such a lose-lose situation :-(

Tell me nothing ever counts
Lashing out or breaking down
Still somebody loses 'cause there's no way to turn around

To ori or not to ori?

*caution: this is a nerdy post!*

Today, I have added a few addition to my collection of law textbooks.

DSC02002

…and trust me, it costs me a bundle!

Going to university doesn’t mean only the level of education is higher… other things are higher too, such as the prices of food and transportation… but one of the most obvious increase in price are the prices of textbooks. During primary or secondary school, a textbooks costs around RM20 to RM30. A university (law) textbook, however, can easily costs up to RM100 (which is considered cheap already), while a statute book costs RM50 to RM60-ish.

That is also the reason why many classmates of mine chooses alternative ways to solve the high price. One of the most common way out is to duplicate the knowledge… i.e: photocopy. Be it comb binding, stapler binding or perfect binding (where they colour-photocopy the cover onto hardcover paper to make it look 99.99% identical to the real book), they ensures that they got to read what’s in the textbook in the end of the day. Another not so convenient way is to borrow the book from the library… for the whole year. They will renew the textbooks every week, only to return it at the end of the semester.

As much as I hate pirated stuff, these classmates aren’t really to be blamed. It’s funnily pathetic that publishers marked a high price on their books and at the same time expects everybody to buy the original copies of it. They forgot that not all students (especially those who worked part time to support their studies) are bloody hell tinted, as not everyone is supported by their parents in terms of finance. Also, their books are only to be used for one semester or year (because publisher keep on publishing new editions, so the older editions will be outdated)… which logic mind would spending hundreds on something you’ll only use for a year? No wonder everybody go seek for alternative routes. I mean, if you want students to choose over price and intellectual property right, the answer would be embarrassedly obvious.

So… which do you support? The original or the alternatives?

New house pet

Last week, mom brought home 2 tortoises as the new house pet =D

Mom named the tortoises after me and my sister, so their name is now Jason Low and Cosette Low

The reason why mom have this sudden urge of getting tortoises is unknown, but then when mom decided to name them after me and my sister, her reason was that since me and my sister was not always at home, the tortoise will be able to replaces us.

In other word, me and my sister are as good as tortoises ==”

Jason crawling on Jason’s hand. Ok. That’s confusing… @.@

The second day when they’re in our home, both went missing and we were in panic! Mom instructed me and my sister to find them, so we crawl all over the house just to found Cosette in the living hall and Jason in the kitchen. Who’s the tortoise now? ==”

Cosette: What are you staring at?

Jason is the more active one while Cosette is more reserved. They love to dive into the water and stay there, sometimes sleeping underwater. Otherwise, they will climb onto the stones and stayed there while enjoying their sunbathing. I love it when I put them onto the floor and let them crawl all over the house… they are faster than i thought! …and of course, on top of their speed, they’re so cute and adorable!!!

Dang! I’m not the cutest in the family anymore! D:
