In the recent years, my prolonged Hepatitis-B virus infection (which I carry since birth) had shown signs of activity to my doctor. Doctor checked and recommended me to take a liver biopsy test, to which I agreed upon.
And therefore, I was granted a 3 days 2 nights vacation at Hospital Selayang!! <3
Although I had been to a hospital for n-th time, this was the first time I actually get to stay there, at a ward. So it actually excites me a little bit. LOL.
The needle that is poked into me for 3 days long ==” for blood taking and anaesthetic injection purposes
Throughout the stay, I saw people checking in and out of the ward. Some checked in in a emergency state, some checked out in order to be sent home and wait for their death, some even died in the ward itself (where dramatical cries of their families can be heard)… one of the most unforgettable patient for me is the uncle who is waiting for his time to come, and in the process of waiting, he is literally moaning in pain non-stop. From the moment I checked in to the day I checked out, he never stops his moans, even while he is sleeping! In fact, his moaning gets louder at night, to the extent I can hear him even when I’m blasting music through my IPod. As much as I know that he cannot control it, I kinda hated him for a while because thanks to his loud moaning, I only get to sleep for 2 hours on the night before my operation…
…and therefore the huge eye bags.
Before going into the operation room, changed into the operation white robe
Speaking of operation, the liver biopsy operation went very smooth and well. Doctor and nurses praised me (like I’m a kid, LOL) because I cooperated and did not complained much although the lack of sleep, and also because I helped the patient next to my bed (who is partially immobilized) to move around.
The doctor who conducted the biopsy on me is fairly young, in her late 20-s, and the doctors who monitored my progress are fresh graduated doctors. Despite being fresh grads, they showed excellent professionalism and passion to their job. For the nurses, they are (out of my expectation) extremely kind and friendly, even when compared to private hospital nurses. Thanks to them, I had a fairly great stay at the hospital. No complains here. XD
However, the nurses cannot talk to me like 24-7… so I’ll have to find some other thing to do besides sleeping, eating and online through my handphone…
…so i brought this to hospital:
