I still remembered when i told my mom i need to bought a set of baju melayu, my mom’s first impression was like: “why do you need to wear THEIR cloths?”
THEIR cloths. Right. Motherfucker nonsense.
when i’m paying for the baju melayu, my mom is like “you sure you wanna buy this?”
when i’m wearing it to college today, everybody in the bus literally stared at me.
then Belinda ffk on the dresscode, make me look even stupider unique in class. Luckily i still got Amelia to wear the traditional cloths with me =D
I’m thinking to myself: “What is so special about wearing baju melayu during raya time???”
Is it special because I’m not a malay??
The uncle from the cup is yellow while the same uncle from the Zinger box is white, a typical example of colour discrimination.
Not being emo (although obviously i AM), but i think the society had went across the line with all these discriminations. Don’t we all live under the same sky, sharing the same world? Don’t we all get the equal right, benefits and protection? What is so special about someone who discriminate another? Who gives you the right to discriminate??
My family is a very typical example of racial discrimination. I had also personally seen people reacted very very VERY VERY unusual when they found out that their friend is of a different sexual orientation. The rich will also have the tendency to look down at the not so fortunate class of people. Like what my mom told me when i was real small:
Don’t talk to the beggar. Why? Because he is a beggar.
Be it a racial discrimination, gender discriminations, sexual orientation discriminations, religious discrimination, age discrimination, caste discriminations, etc etc… why can’t we put it to a stop?
Do we really have to pass it down to the next generation?
but sometimes, discrimination can be a good thing. LOL.
p.s: That was a joke. Please don’t discriminates.

You should understand ur parents discriminate because they grow up in a discriminating environment, they were the victim of discrimination when they are young, while generally non-muslim is not helped by the gov. For instance, maybe u dint realise it, our 4th uncle actly got better results than other students when he's doing his form6 but he didnt get offer into Uni coz he is not muslim, and so tis ripped his chances of better education coz his family is not that well-being. so from his shoe, do u think he can forgive that? Try ask him.
Im not saying that its okay to discriminate, but what Im trying to say is, you're the educated wan, we should leave the trying-to-change-the-societys'-mind task to the young generation, who grew up in not just a different but better environment. You didnt realise it but you are being biased to them. They grew up poor, with not much helped frm the government, they dun have the chance of education, so how do u expect them to think they way you do? Being the well-educated young brat who thinks what u did is all nobel and right, pls think again, what you critique about them discriminating is true, but what you actually just did is discriminating them for their past and their non-educated. Bear in mind, all people is biased hence discriminating, especially (TYPICAL) chinese. Think wider bro.
Discriminating is not an issue which is as simple as what you posted. Well if you asked me, I would say it should start with the gov. But guessed that wont happen anytime soon. But of course, individually we should try change our perception and start to not discriminate towards others.
